I believe (I stand to be corrected!) that this old factory was once part of one of the city's flour mills. This series of 5 photos are likely the last you will see of the buildings as they were in late 2010. The Christchurch Earthquakes in Feb 2011 that laid waste to parts of the city also badly damaged this historic building, such that much of it has collapsed. Map That Image

Despite being in the South Island, Ruataniwha Inlet is in fact further north than the nations capital city, Wellington, at the southern end of the North Island.
