Lake Heron

In the face of a gathering NW storm, we detoured briefly on our way back to Mt Somers from the Ashburton Lakes area, to Lake Heron. Gathering Storm Clouds

Aoraki-Mt Cook

Having lived at Aoraki-Mt Cook for nearly 6 months, this evocative picture brings back fond memories. Aoraki stands fast in the fading light, a last bastion of granitic defense in the face of an oncoming Nor-West Storm.    Map That Image
