Silver Stick Figure

Born not of trickery (Ok, maybe a little sleight of hand), or by merging images, or as a computer generated fractal, this interesting spectacle was created with a simple torch, and a very long shutter speed on my camera one dark night… We think he’s rather cool actually!

Rakaia Gorge

Mid afternoon at the Rakaia Gorge. We stopped for lunch on our way home from Mt Somers. Great view up the Gorge, under the bridge, and across to Mt Hutt. An I didn’t even have to get my feet wet! Map That Image

Lake Heron

In the face of a gathering NW storm, we detoured briefly on our way back to Mt Somers from the Ashburton Lakes area, to Lake Heron. Jumping out of the car to pop off a few photos, I nearly got bowled over by the wind, which was doing its best to steam-roller the tussock along the lake shore. Map That Image
